0

Hi and welcome to the last day of my Easter Boxes series. I hope you’ve enjoyed the last four days, and will give at least one of the boxes a go yourself.

Today’s box is small but holds some delicious treats!  It’s my Ferrero Rocher box. Four of those delicious little morsels can nestle inside this cute little box.

Ok, ok, I know I waffle on, so here’s the measurements. 🙂

Measurements:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock – 9 1/4 x 5 1/4″ scored at:

1 1/4″  |  4″  |  5 1/4″  |  8″ on the horizontal

1 1/4″  |  4″  on the verticle,  and

5/8″  |  4 5/8″  – on one end of the verticle – to the second horizontal score mark only on three sides. (view video for clearer instructions. 😉

Watermelon Wonder Background DSP – 2 1/4″ x 10″ for the wrap

I really hope you’ve enjoyed these videos this week and will continue to watch my Friday Frenzy videos each Friday, starting with tomorrows which is a doozy!

There is three video’s tomorrow as part of creating a set of four cards and a matching presentation box.  Lot’s a laughs at my expense, and I was crushed …. but no, I won’t give the ending away!

Anyway, for now

Cheers,
Karen 😉

This project started out easy enough – but by the end,

I was wishing I hadn’t started. LOL

Anyway, if you’ve made it here to the blog post, I must’ve done something right – OR you just felt sorry for me.  I’m going with the former. 😉

Welcome to #25 in my series of Friday Frenzy, this week’s was a Frenzy – well, once I started editing – anyway. LOL

Regardless of the problems I had with filming/editing, this project – the cards – were gorgeous, whether you liked the Pacific Point and Pumpkin Pie, or the Mint Macaron and So Saffron – they all looked great in the end.  Iwas really pleased with the cards, and the first box, even if it was too small!

Measurements:

Card Layer: 11″ x 8 1/2″ or A4 sheet Whisper White
4 Card Bases:  4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ or 10.5 x 14.5 cm – from Whisper White Thick either tent fold or side fold – your choice.
Box Base: Mint Macaron/Coloured Cardstock  –  8 x 10″ or 20.5 x 25.7cm
Box Lid: Whisper White Thick Cardstock – 8 1/16 x 10 1/16 or 20.7 x 25.9 cm

The Complete Collection of Pictures

I hope you enjoyed this collection and as the last frame of the last video said, at least if you didn’t learn something new, you could have had a good giggle at the goofs I made.

Until next time!

Friday Frenzy #26 – Dragonfly Dreams Flip Front Card – Stampin’ Up!

0
0

Hey all!
Welcome to another Friday Frenzy, this time I’m CASE-ing a card from LeeAnn Greff in the States. She put together a cute window card a few years ago on YouTube and when I saw it I thought it would be cuter still with the Dragonfly Dreams set.

I’m still working my way through some 2015 – 2017 cardstock so this card uses Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Whisper White.

You can also get a Card Kit of this card for the month of April, simply by placing an online order through my store.

  • Orders up to $50 will earn you a Card Kit and a special Gift from me.
  • Orders over $50 but up to $168 will earn this Card Kit, another of my choosing and a special Gift from me.

If your order totals more than $169,  then Join my team instead.  For $169 you get to choose $235 worth of product!!!  You don’t need to hold workshops, or go out and demonstrate, you can be just a ‘hobby demo’, as they are called.

If you want to purchase this Stamp and Die as a Bundle – buy it before the end of May.  Though it is one of the Stamp and matching Die sets that is carrying over into the new catalogue – they won’t be sold as a Bundle from June 1st.

Anyway – here are the Measurements:

Mint Macaron Base: 8 1/4 x 5 3/4″ scored at 4 1/8″  or 21 x 14.5 cm scored at 10.5 cm
Whisper White: 6 1/2 x 3 3/4″ scored at 2″, 4″, & 6″  or  16.5 x 9.5 cm scored at 5, 10, & 15cm.
Whisper White: 3 x 3″ or 7.7 x 7.7 cm
Whisper White: 8 x 3/4″ for sentiments – this will be cut in two to 4″ lengths  or  20.4 x 2 cm cut in half at 10.2 cm
Tip Top Taupe: 8 x 1″ cut into two 4 inch lengths  or  20.4 x 2.5 cm cut into two 10.2 cm lengths
Tip Top Taupe:  3 1/2 x 3″ or 7.5 x 9 cm for Dragonfly

Here are some stills of the card:

I hope you enjoyed this weeks card, and make it yourself.  If you do, please share a pic in the comments section below!  You can purchase all the products from my online store, just click on the images below.

Until next week

Hi All!

Welcome to another short series of videos as we come up to Mother’s Day and farewell some of our gorgeous stamp and die sets.

I’ve barely had time to play with the Oh So Succulents bundle of stamps and dies and it’s going.  But this video showcases the beautiful dies to perfection.  It’s definitely a set I will be keeping regardless of whether it’s in our catalogue or not, and I can see it featuring in videos long past the time it retires.

Anyway the measurements for this project are really simple.

Measurements

Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock: 8 1/2 x 8 1/2″ piece of cardstock  (or 21.5cm x 21.5 cm)
Whisper White Cardstock: 8 1/4 x 5 3/4″ ( or 21 cm x 14.5 cm) to cut out flowers
Old Olive Cardstock: scrap measuring 4x 4″ ( or 10 x 10 cm) for the leaves

I hope you enjoyed the video and will visit Hayley’s Candle business to experience her heavenly scents for yourself.  Her facebook page is: Wickety Wax

Here are some still shots of the finished project.

All the products used in the project can be found in my Online Store – you can also order by simply clicking on the products in the shop below.

Don’t forget to join me on Friday for another Friday Frenzy and then again on Monday for another Monday Makes Mothers Day #2.

Hi All!

Welcome to another weeks Friday Frenzy!

This card was inspired by a card made by Brenda Quintana on YouTube, but you can also find her on QBees Quest.

I really liked her front layout but wanted to use this set so badly – before it retires at the end of May!?!?!?!?!  Soooo sad to see this one go – and the Succulents set too!!!

Anyway – here are the Measurements:

Whisper White Thick A4 Cardstock:  11 3/4 x 4 1/8″ scored at 3 1/8 at one end and 2 3/4 from the other end
or 29 x 10.5 cm scored at 7cm from one end and 8 cm from the other.
Watermelon Wonder Cardstock: 4 3/4 x 3 5/8″  or 12 x 9 cm
Whisper White Cardstock: 4 1/2 x 3 3/8″ or 11.5 x 8.5
Mint Macaron Cardstock Scrap: 2 3/4 x 4″  or  7 x 10cm ( leaves and stems )
Watermelon Wonder Cardstock Scrap:4 3/4 x 4 3/4″ or 12 x 12 cm ( floral die-cuts )

Here’s the video for those who haven’t seen it.

And some close-up still-shots.

Thanks for joining me, and I hope you’ll join me again for next week’s Friday Frenzy!

Cheers,
Karen 🙂

Hi and welcome to another Monday Makes Mothers Day – this time it’s a Spa Day Box for those special gifts.  Once again I’m decorating with the Succulents Thinlets.  This time I made three different sizes of succulents, which is really easy and looks very sweet – even if I do say so myself. 😉

Just a quick reminder that the whole suite will finish at the end of this month so if you love them as much as I do and want your own set, get in quickly.  The link to purchase is in the shopping cart below.

Okay, for those who only visit for the details, here they come!

Measurements:

Base of Box – 11 15/16″ x 8 3/16″ scored at 2 1/4″ on all four sides
Lid of Box – 10″ x 6 1/4″ scored at 1 1/4″ on all four sides.

(I’m naming the die cuts #1 – #6. #1 being the biggest and #6 the smallest of the dies.)

Scrap of Whisper White cardstock for the base Succulents.  Die cut one each of numbers 1, 2 and 3 dies out of the white cardstock, and ink the edges slightly.

Full sheet of vellum cut in half to fit through the bigshot for the remaining succulents as follows below:

  • #1 cut one in vellum – you only need this for the largest of the succulent flowers
  • #2 cut three in vellum – two for the largest flower, and one for the medium flower to sit immediately inside the white cardstock die you cut.
  • #3 cut five – two for the largest flower, two for the medium flower and one for the smallest to sit inside the white cardstock die you cut.
  • #4 cut six – two for each of the flowers
  • #5 cut six – two for each of the flowers
  • #6 cut six – two for each of the flowers

For those who haven’t yet seen the video:

And below you can see the gallery of photos from this project.

Friday Frenzy #28 – Succulent Chupa Chups – Stampin’ Up!

0
0

Hi and welcome to #28 in the Friday Frenzy series.  This week a 3D project especially for those with little girls in their lives!

These little Chupa Chups Succulents are adorable and would go down a treat at any little girls parties where each attendee goes home with their own little flower from the table decorations.  And what better little flower could they take home than an edible one!?

Or even if you just wanted an unusual table decoration for those occasional visitors or for those times when there’s just no other way to encourage your kids to tidy their rooms!  Believe me, I’ve learned all about bribery and corruption where children are concerned, I’ve had four of them myself! LOL

These flowers really couldn’t be any easier to make – as you will see in the video.  And the Succulent dies are brilliant for this project – they fit around the Chupa Chups perfectly!!

Ok, here are the materials needed.

Materials & Measurements

Per Flower:  1/2 sheet of 12 x 12 paper to cut:

3 x largest die
3 x second largest die

A scrap of green paper or card 2″ x 2″ to cut:

1 flower using the third largest die.

How easy was that??

Okay, for those who haven’t seen it, here is the video:

And some still pix of the finished project:

Don’t forget this Monday is the final in the Monday Makes Mothers Day series.

Join me again next week for more videos, and have a safe and happy weekend!

Cheers

Monday Makes Mothers Day #3 – Delightful Daisy Candle Box – Stampin’ Up!

0
0

Hi and welcome to another Monday Makes Mothers Day – but this time it’s been released late on a Friday night as this week has been a hard one in Real Life, and I really didn’t feel up to making this earlier in the week.

Anyway – to make up for it – sorta’, and to make up for there being no Friday Frenzy either, I did a mash-up and made a card to match the candle box – all using the new Delightful Daisy DSP that will be released to customers on June 1st.

The candle is once again from the amazing Hayley at Wickety Wax Candles, she is having a special deal on Candles and Melts this weekend, so if you’re running late for a Mothers Day gift and live in Victoria – give her a look up on Facebook to see what she has available.  Your mother will love you even more!!!

Wickety Wax Candles, Melts & More

Anyway – here are the details for the Box and for the Card:

Box Measurements:

Whisper White Heavy Cardstock – 11 x 7 3/4″

Scored on the long side at:  1 3/4″, 3 1/2″, 5 1/4″, 7″, 8 3/4″, & 10 1/2″.
Scored on the short side at: 2″ & 5 5/8″

Layering Panels of DSP – 6 pieces cut 1 1/2″ x 3 3/8″
Whisper White Cardstock Scrap –  4″ x 4″ for daisies

Card Measurements:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock – 8 1/4″ x 5 3/4″  scored at 4 1/8″
Old Olive Cardstock – 4 7/8″ x 3 3/8″
DSP Panels – 3 1/4″ x 1 1/2″
Whisper White Cardstock Scrap –  4″ x 4″ for daisies

Since the Delightful Daisies Bundle hasn’t been released yet (prior to June 1st, 2017), I would suggest using the three smaller of the larger six dies in the Succulents die set to make the flowers on the card and box.  Or if you have the Flower Bunch Punch or something similar of older stock from Stampin’ Up!

Here is a link to the video:

And for those wanting a closer/longer look at the finished projects:

Thank you once again for joining me I hope to be entertaining you again, soon!

Remember – if you would like to get your hands on the new products before June 1st

Cheers,
Karen 🙂

I hope you love this weeks project as much as I do!!  I have a confession – I LOVE butterflies, though I normally call the flutterbies because that’s what they do.  I also LOVE the German name for them – Schmetterling – it just rolls off the tongue so well. I enjoy watching German YouTube video’s that feature butterflies just to hear them pronounce the word.  Strange, weird even, but that’s me. LOL

Anyway, today’s project details are here, and you can also view the video below.

Magical Monday feat. Daisy Delight from Stampin’ Up!

Hi All!

Welcome to the first in a new series, Magical Mondays.  And the first cab off the rank as far as suites go, is the Daisy Delight Stamp and Punch Bundle.

This will go down as one of, if not THE, most popular Bundles ever.

I think basically every demo in the world ordered this in the pre – release order.  I wasn’t sure if I would like it myself, but it has become as frequently used by me, as the Cookie Cutter Christmas bundle – and you all know how much I LOVED that bundle.  I lost count of how many different cards I made using that one punch and the stamp set.  It was so versatile, and its the same with this bundle.  The layouts are endless!

Okay, that’s enough gushing over this bundle.  Let’s get one with the dimensions and stuff which I know you all want! LOL

Measurements:

Card Base: Whisper White Thick Card – 8 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ scored at 4 1/8″
Layer 1:  Pool Party – 3 7/8″ x 5 1/2″
Layer 2:  Whisper White Layering Card –  3 5/8″ x 5 1/4″
Scrap Whisper White Layering Card: 5″ x 5″ for the daisies – stamp and punch 2 daisies and then stamp two mottled daisy centres in 1 x Daffodil Delight and 1 x Pumpkin Pie one on top of the other.
Scrap Old Olive: three leaves – stamp in Old Olive and fussy cut

Here’s the video in case you missed it!

And the gallery of still images:

Well, I hope you enjoyed this first video in the new series.  From now on the Friday Frenzy videos will be intermittent and will mainly be uploads of the FaceBook Live videos I do occasionally.

Hope you have a great week, and remember if you would like to purchase any of the products used to make this project, you can find them in the shopping cart below.

Cheers,
Karen 🙂

Magical Monday feat. Daisy Delight Bundle & Murphy

0
0

This is Murphy

Murphy tends to appear when I least expect, or more importantly, want him to.  Murphy has been in my life for at least the last 38 years. I doodled him in school, on basically any flat surface. A few years ago, a similar shape/character appeared on a clothing line – I can’t remember the name of the company now, but it was quite big in Australia.  But Murphy, as he later became known, was all mine.  All buck teeth and soulful eyes. LOL

When I was pregnant with my third child, I did an adult literacy course on how to teach adults to read, write and do basic math.  One assignment on the course was to write a short story that would be easy to read for beginners, but aimed at adults, not children.

I brought back to life the doodle I’d done in school and named him Murphy.  I even created him a whole backstory.  But the upshot was – he represented Murphy’s Law.  When something can go wrong – it quite often will.  And believe me – in today’s video – that’s exactly what happened!!

Okay, enough chatter, let’s get on with this post.

Measurements:

Base Card: Whisper White – 8 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ scored at 4 1/8″
First Layer: Lemon Lime Twist – 2 3/4″ x 5 3/4″
DSP Layer: 2 1/2″ x 5 3/4″
Whisper White 5″ x 5″ to stamp and punch out Daisy and Centre
Lemon Lime Twist ribbon – 7″ and 3″
Inside Layer: Lemon Lime Twist – 3 7/8″ x 5 1/2″
Inside 2nd Layer: Whisper White – 3 5/8″ x 5 1/4″

To put this card together – watch the video and then Like and Subscribe so you don’t miss a video I put out.  Feel free to share with friends!

Here are some still shots of the finished project!

Well, I hope you have enjoyed today’s project and had a laugh at Murphy’s shenanigans.  Join me next week for another Magical Monday. I hope to be starting the Thursday Throwbacks very shortly, so please subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss a thing!!

Until next time,

JAI #433 Colour Challenge feat. Snowfall Thinlits from Stampin’ Up!

0
0

Hi everyone and thanks for calling in to see my entry in the Just Add Ink Colour Challenge #433.

As soon as I saw the colours of the Challenge, this card appeared in my head as a none traditional Christmas card.  The brightness of the three colours just screamed to be made into snowflakes – IDK, I guess I was having a strange day. LOL

But I do love the way this card came out, so much so, I decided to make this into a YouTube ad for my channel. LOL

I diecut the snowflakes from Snowfall Thinlits dies, in all three colours, and then covered them in versamark before dunking them into clear embossing powder and heat setting the powder.  I repeated this to give them a really glossy look.

I diecut the square with two square dies and removed the frame – I may use it in another project later.

Then I stamped a snowflake from the Snow is Glistening stamp set with versamark and heat set it with clear embossing powder to give the whisper white layer some added interest.

I inked versamark onto the sentiment stamp and then inked it again straight away with Lemon Lime Twist ink, then stamped it onto the small square panel and then added clear embossing powder before heat setting. (Remember the versamark goes on the stamp first then the coloured ink – so your versamark pad doesn’t get damaged.)

I used a ton of dimensionals to adhere the whisper white top layer to the silver glimmer paper. And another five dimensionals to adhere the centre square.

Each snowflake has either a large or mini dimensional behind it, and is added to the white layer, not the glimmer paper.  I added the clear faceted gems to the top of each snowflake, using one of each size.

Below are a variety of images of the finished card!

Oh and I should add, I did want to use white glimmer paper, not silver, but I didn’t have any here.  I think the white glimmer would have made the card look even better. 😉

Thanks for visiting!
Until next time,

Cheers,
Karen 🙂

I LOVE the way this card turned out.  I wanted to use the Tranquil Textures paper again, but didn’t know whether it would look good as a Christmas card or not, until I finished the sample card.

Adding the snowflakes really “Christmas’d” it up! LOL

I’m now going to ruffle through all of my current and past DSP’s to see what I can utilise for Christmas – Painted with Love may be retired, but I can see a Christmas card on the horizon. LOL STAY TUNED!!

Hi and welcome to another Crafty Christmas – this week we’ve stepped back in time – well a few weeks of time and I’m bringing you another Santa’s Workshop DSP card. Aren’t you glad you stayed as a Subbie? LOL

It just goes to show how versatile this suite is when you can create over 20 projects (yes, there were 20!!!) from the one suite and none of them is duplicates of another.

Well, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!! LOL

Layered Snowflake 4 x 4 Card | Stampin’ Up!

Welcome to another really quick card this week.  You can get three cards from an A4 sheet of cardstock by making each card 8 x 3 7/8″ in size, with the snowflake, you barely notice the card isn’t quite square.

For a sheet in the US, you can only get 2 cards from a sheet of cardstock unless you use 12 x 12″ where you can get four cards from one sheet and have enough left over for a layering piece or gift tag! LOL

Materials & Measurements

Tranquil Tide Cardstock 8 x 4″ scored at 4″
Joyous Noel DSP – 3 3/4 x 3 3/4″
Copper Foil – 3 3/4 x 3 3/4″ (largest snowflake die)
Merry Merlot – 2 1/2 x 2 1/2″ (medium snowflake die)
Copper Foil 1 1/2 x 1 1/2″ (small snowflake die)
Whisper White Cardstock – 3 3/4 x 3 3/4″ (inside card)
